Yag Camii – What to See – Adana

The building is located on Adana province, Seyhan district, Alidede district, Ali Münif Yeğenağa street. Yağ Mosque was converted from a church to a mosque in 1501 by the order of Ramazanoğlu Halil Bey. Since the oil market was established in front of the door of the building, whose real name is the Old Mosque, it has been called the Oil Mosque until today.

According to the foundation documents, it is known that Cam-i Atik is also called Cami-i Köhne. The construction of the minaret was completed in 1525.

The Turkish version of the inscription on the crown gate is: Sultan Süleyman Şah Han, son of the great fortunate Sultan Selim Khan, may God grant his victory forever. The person who built this madrasa and maintained this mosque during his reign is Piri, the son of Ramazanoğlu Halil, the emir of the dignitaries of the state. It is in the form.
