Buyuk Saat Kulesi – What to See – Adana

Adana Grand Clock Tower is on Ali Münif Street in Seyhan district. Its construction started in 1881 by Governor Ziya Pasha and was completed in 1882 during the reign of Governor Abidin Pasha.

The clock tower, made of cut stone and 32 meters long, is in the shape of a square prism.

During the construction of the tower, there were clock towers in different provinces in the Ottoman Empire. Among these clock towers, the tallest is the Grand Clock and the second is the Dolmabahçe Clock Tower. The clock tower, made of small stone bricks that are very difficult to knit, was built so solidly that it managed to survive even after the Adana earthquake in 1998.
