Varda Bridge, located approximately one kilometer southwest of Hacıkırı Village in Karaisalı District, in the Adana-Ankara direction, is known as the Big Bridge by the public. It was built between 1907 and 1912 to complete the Istanbul-Baghdad-Hijaz railway line, with the contract signed by the Ottoman Emperor Abdulhamid II and the German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm. The bridge is 99 meters high and 172 meters long and connects a deep valley. Another important and interesting feature of the Varda Bridge is that it is not a straight bridge but curved.
