Misi Village, which is today connected to Nilüfer Municipality under the name of Gümüştepe District, is a very old settlement and an important region for Christians.
It is recorded in historical records that in 183 A.D., a monk named Alex settled in the villages of İnkaya and Misi with his entourage of eighty-five people as the pioneers of Christians, and a “consul” was held to discuss the Bible; It is believed that a copy of the Bible is buried near the monastery, the ruins of which are found today.
