As soon as you pass Değirmenyanı Village on your way to Datça, turn left and you will see Hisarönü, which consists of two bays side by side with sparkling waters. The village, which is reached through oleander trees, serves tourism with its small motels and hostels. It is an indispensable place for surfing enthusiasts. Hemithia, the goddess of health, lived here and healed the patients.
THE LEGEND OF HEMITHIA;
Crysothemisin, the wife of Staphylus, the king of Rhodes, and her daughter are assigned to protect the sacred wine. One day, while their little daughters Molpedia and Parthenos were sleeping, their pet pigs overturned the barrels and spilled all the wine. When they woke up and realized the damage, the two sisters were afraid and ran towards the beach. Their aim was to get on a boat, sail to the sea and commit suicide. However, Apollo saved them. Apollo took Molpedia to the shopping center at the end of Hisarönü bay. In a short time, the village people realized that this girl brought by Apollo healed the sick in her sleep and they named her Hemithia (Hethimea), which means “Goddess of Health”.
