The district between Çal, Buldan, Sarıgöl, Eşme and Denizli, 76 km north of Denizli, was formed in the fourth geological period and was built on important alluvial deposits and mountainous rugged terrain.

After crossing the Işıklı dam lake near Çivril, which was born from the Dinar mountains, the Büyük Menderes river, which crosses the borders of Çal district and joins the Banaz and Hamam streams near the village of Adıgüzeller in the South, but cannot be used for irrigation purposes enough, flows through the deep valleys here.

The Menderes valley is considered a special bird sanctuary. In addition to birds singing day and night, wild ducks, kestrels, even eagles, hawks and hawks can be seen in Kartalkaya. Steppe-dominated Mediterranean vegetation dominates the region. Coniferous trees, shrubs, juniper, olives and alder trees that do not shed their summer-winter leaves are found in the region.

The water of the waterfall, which poured into the Büyük Menderes river from a height of about 20 meters, is calcareous. As a result, it creates calcareous steps and strange formations in the waterfall bed.

The source of the water is 200 meters back in the form of a bridal veil, tulle curtain and even a fan. It is like emerald green velvet and contains water droplets and lime that float on algae that you want to touch with your hand and caress just like a cat.

In addition to giving life to the plants, the ingenious water formed the Damlataş Cave with its stalactites and stalagmites that emerged after years of flow. In this cave, which is formed within the flow set of the waterfall, there is also an in-cave lake that is man-sized in depth and swimable. The waterfall, which flows like a curtain, covers the doors and windows of the cave.

When it comes to the waterfall location, you park your car along the way and either set up on the country restaurant’s tables facing the valley or sit on the hearthside wooden tables on the sets in the parking area and have a picnic.

You can go up to the upper part of the waterfall, walk around it, climb under the waters that have a shower effect with the appropriate clothing, and feel the water of the waterfall to the fullest.
