Koyunevi Village, Sokakağzı Beach

The coastal district, which is 18 km away from Assos, on the same shore, is located on the ancient city of Polymedium. There is nobody in sight at the intersection of four roads in the village, which is leaning against the steep slopes. But the boarding house and hotel signs give the impression that there is life on the beach. As soon as you start to descend the ramp, you encounter the Aegean sea view equivalent to the panorama seen from the Athena Temple of Assos and feel the warm wind on your face. Excavation has not yet been carried out in the village, which is located on the ancient city of Polymedium. Behind the wide and long beach of the protected area, there are several pensions, cafes and some summer houses. The facilities open in summer and winter in the modest residential area welcome guests all year round. Since it is less known than Assos, this is a complete peace shelter with more economical prices. With its clean air, sea and sandy beach much larger than Assos, it is the choice of families who do not seek luxury. You can join daily trips and boat tours in the region, which has rich bays for fishing with fishing rods and underwater spearguns. There is suitable wind for surfing enthusiasts. There is also land hunting during the hunting season. In September, there is an abundance of fish, especially bluefish. It is possible to find wild sea bream, red mullet, trophy, cinarite, bream and other fish types. Coasts such as Assos-Babakale-Kumburnu, which are on the migration route of the fish going from the Mediterranean to the Aegean, Marmara and the Black Sea to lay eggs, are literally seafood paradise. You can buy handcrafted souvenirs from the villages in the region whose originality has never been spoiled. On your trip between Koyunevi and Assos, you can also come across those who make clusters of oak trees and produce charcoal by burning them.
