Necropolis Museum, located in Antalya city center, is Turkey’s first “necropolis museum”. The museum, which was opened in 2023, is located on the Eastern Necropolis Area of the Ancient City of Attaleia. The museum building, which draws attention with its original architecture, is equipped with modern exhibition halls and walking paths that offer visitors the opportunity to closely examine the historical burial grounds.
Nearly a thousand different types of graves, many archaeological artifacts and skeletons were found in the 2,300-year-old burial area, which was unearthed during rescue excavations carried out in the region in 2008. Findings obtained from the area show that the necropolis was actively used from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD.

The museum contains both original artifacts from excavations and objects selected from the Antalya Museum collection. Many historical artifacts such as sarcophagi, tombstones, glass objects, coins and votive items provide visitors with information about the burial rituals and traditions of the Ancient Age.
