This year we wanted to make our traditional road trip trip through West America. Our dream was to open up to the west for a long time. Our list initially covered a few states, but then my father is crazy, I crazy, where did we go. We first started our trip with Los Angeles.
Land of celebrities, city of lost angels.
Los Angeles is actually a Spanish origin word. It means “holy city of our mother and queen of angels”. According to another rumor, it means “City of Lost Angels”. We wanted to see and explore this city of angels, the land of celebrities, the famous Hollywood world.
As soon as we got off the plane, we rented our car and settled in the hotel. It takes 6 hours from New York to Los Angeles. After growing up in a country whose furthest point from end to end only takes one hour by plane, one wonders how 350 million did not disappear in this country. Our first thing in the morning is the Griffith Observatory (actually the observatory and the observatory) to say, “I looked at you from a hill yesterday.” The arrangements are very interesting, you need to make a reservation to drive to the observatory, or it is possible to park your car in the parking lot and go up the hill with their service. If you say this is free of charge, there is of course; Walking up the hill in the heat of Los Angeles (about 20 minutes and if possible you will not have the energy to leave yourself down there). As you can imagine, we took the shuttle and watched a view of Los Angeles for $ 8 per person.
We could not enjoy the view as it was a dense fog. Also, the astronomy shows waiting for us inside did not attract our attention at all. I would be very sorry if I did not see the famous Hollywood article and take a souvenir photo.
We are used to the mantle-piercing cold of New York in winter and the humid heat of summer that sticks to the asphalt, this city surrounded by palm trees seemed like a paradise to us, we were a bit odd. Palm on the roads, palm in the gardens, palm in the Wal-Mart garden and even next to Starbucks gives you the feeling of being on vacation at any time.
While I was zooming in on the buildings that interested me, I remembered that I saw this tunnel in a car brand advertisement.
We went to other touristic places to find the place. We have also seen Universal Studios / studios where the famous Holloywood movies were shot, Hollywood, the red carpet where celebrities pose for and pass over the award ceremonies and other places.
While doing this type of long trips, we attach importance not only to the classic but also to set foot in less known places. Los Angeles is actually very interesting with the Spanish population, the dominant culture, the traffic that reminds Istanbul (even we are lucky), palm trees and Laguna Beach. On the other hand, a typical American state; It is possible to find Macy’s, Wal-mart and Starbucks everywhere. Sometimes it is difficult to understand that they even come to another city, unless Spaniards have a picnic with their children in the parks. We’re turning our course to the Mexican side, wait for us San Diego!
