Selge Ancient City is located in the Manavgat district of Antalya, within the borders of Köprülü Canyon National Park.
Selge is one of the important cities of the Pisidia Region. It is thought that Selge was founded by Kalehes. The city, which was a part of Pisidia, was later included within the borders of Pamphylia. The city remained under Lydian, Persian, Alexander and Roman rule respectively. According to Strabo, the population of the city, which had its heyday during the Roman period, reached 20 thousand people. This process continued until the Byzantine period, when the people became Christian. The people of Selge, who came under the rule of the Turks in the 13th century AD, turned into a nomadic settlement called Zerk.

Today’s city ruins mostly consist of walls and acropolis. The most intact structure in the city that has survived to the present day is the theater carved into the rock, which was restored in the 3rd century AD. Other ruins in the city include the stadium and gymnasium to the south of the theatre, the Ionic temple decorated with an eagle motif on the ceiling to the west, and the fountain and agora to the south of the stadium. The necropolis of the city with the monuments of Artemis and Zeus is located to the north of the walls extending to the southwest of the city.
