Gelidonya Feneri – Places to Visit – Antalya

Gelidonya Lighthouse, one of the guiding lighthouses of the Mediterranean, is located on Taşlık Cape in Kumluca district of Antalya. It is the highest lighthouse on the Turkish coast, at an altitude of 227 meters and located 3 kilometers inland from the sea. It is also known as Taşlıkburnu Lighthouse.

Gelidonya Lighthouse, located on the Lycian Way route, was built on sharp rocks. Transportation is quite difficult and tiring.

In this section of the Lycian Way (Sheet: 22), the path heading south from the Karaöz settlement continues on the dirt road to the tip of the peninsula, then branches off to the left with a sign and rises through the forest to reach a slope overlooking Gelidonya Burnu (Taşlık Burnu) and Gelidonya Lighthouse. The path, which rises a little more by following the ridge of the hill on which it is located, then descends through the forest and continues towards Adrasan, parallel to the coast, with a beautiful sea view. Melanippe Ancient City, located in Pirate Bay, is also located in this part of the Lycian Way.

It is also possible to camp at Gelidonya Lighthouse, which is a must for mountain and nature walkers on this magnificent track of the Lycian Way. This magnificent view, where hikers can pitch tents, is also very attractive for nature photography. The lighthouse, which can be seen with all its majesty even from afar, on the route used by those who come to holiday villages such as Adrasan and Kumluca, is also a stopping point in events such as the running marathon organized on the Lycian Way.
