Gedevet Plateau
Except sea trip, one of the most quickly reached from Turkey’s central plateau for those who want to picnic Gedevet’s Plateau district and 21 km from the 1100 altitude above the sea level. The plateau, which is filled with some apartments, some villas, some farmhouses, with all roads paved, has a daily picnic area in the summer of 2006. There are camellias, hammocks, toilets and picnic tables in the promenade, which is built in a dense pine forest like a pencil. Those who enter the area with a large car parking area free of charge pay the price of what they eat if they eat at the restaurant named Park Orman.
They enjoy the holiday and picnic at the pine-scented promenade under the choir of the August beetles, the symbol of summer. Especially, Alanya impresses with its humid air and heat, while Gedevet Plateau breathes the climatic environment with its relatively cool air. The water flowing from nine fountains of Dokuzoluk Village, located on the plateau road, is appreciated. Nine monumental plane trees, thought to be 900 years old, amaze with their grand trunks. The vacated trunk of one of the living monumental trees functions as a summer barber shop! The hospitable locals of the village use the wooden terraces they build around the breezy, shady plane trees as places for coffee and chat.
