Edremit is a town in the west of Balıkesir province, on the Aegean Sea coast. Edremit is the fourth largest district of Balıkesir province and is known for olive cultivation and Kazdağları. Altınoluk and Akçay, which are the first important centers of domestic tourism, are in this district.
