On the morning of May 30, fate brought me to Adana again. After flying with Sunexpress for 1 hour and 15 minutes, we went to Adana, watching a magnificent view of Çukurova. Sunexpress is one of the companies that offer their offerings for a fee. If this number just thought peculiar to America’s capitalist companies mekki began to be implemented in Turkey. Nobody dies of hunger in an hour, but we could not match this to Turkish hospitality. Until they charge 5ytl, it is bigger than their fault. We immediately went to Mersin without staying in Adana. I was preparing for our trip to the East last year. I learned while researching the Companions of the Cave of the cave in Turkey’s exactly 33 pieces of the Companions of the kehf space. I do not know which of them is correct, but I would like to see all of them as much as I can. After Kahramanmaraş, we went to the Ashab-ı Kehf cave in Tarsus, Çamlıköy. There was a very complex formation inside and it was not even possible to enter some parts of it. They say that the Karacaoğlan entered this cave one day and never came out again. Allah knows the truth now.
Saying Tarsus comes the Eshab-ı Kehf for some reason. As soon as we got off the plane, we headed towards Tarsus, the family will be. To mention our travel team, most of my trips are understandably with my family. Everyone contributes to our trip differently and we form a team. My task is to research and document everything from A to Z. From the cheapest and most beautiful hotel to where to visit or eat, all of them are within the limits of both my hobby and my duty. With the arrival of my older brother, who has not been with us for a long time, everything became much better. His relative ability to drive a car and find a God-given place, and his ability to take him to the place he thought of, provided us with an excellent service as our road map. Fathers are already known as the most natural banks God has given us.At the same time, my dear father makes every moment precious. And my mother is the most beautiful participant, free consultant, listener and the most fixture of our trips.
Where Tarsus was connected remained a question mark for a long time. There are those who think it is Adana according to some, Mersin according to some and even Hatay. The reason is simple because Tarsus has been the capital of Cilician civilization for many years. Don’t be surprised if it depends on Tarsus Mersin. Tarsus, which is 30-40 minutes away from Adana with the slowest drive, had a lot to see and see. Let me list briefly:
Eshab-ı Kehf (Seven Sleepers Cave)
The adventure of a few honorable young people who believed in God has become legendary in our country. Since they accepted Christianity, which was the true religion before Islam, they came face to face with death, but they preferred not to leave the Truth. The best and the best is what he describes. Let’s see how our Almighty Lord tells those beautiful dignitaries:
Surah Kehf, Verses 9-31, DiYANET PUBLICATIONS SUAT YILDIRIM
9. Or did you (only) consider the Companions of the Al-Kahf and Companions of Raqim among our exemplary proofs?
10. When those young people took refuge in the cave, “O our Lord! Give us a mercy from you and make it easier for us to reach salvation and righteousness in this situation we are in. ”
11. Thereupon, we closed their ears (to the outside world) for many years. (We put them to sleep)
12. Then we awakened them so that we could know which of the two groups better calculate their waiting period.
13. We tell you their news as truth: Indeed, a few young men who believed in their Lord were brave. We also increased their guidance.
14. 15. He got up and said, “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will never call anyone else God. Otherwise, we will surely have said an absurd word. These people, our people, have taken other gods from him. What if they brought clear evidence about them! Who is more cruel than he who invented a lie against Allah? ” when they said we gave strength to their hearts.
16. (One of them said 🙂 “Since you turned away from them and because they worshiped other than Allah, then retire into the cave so that your Lord may spread His mercy to you and prepare things that you will benefit in your situation.”
17. (If you were there) when the sun rises its; you would see their caves slide to the right, and go to the left without touching them at dusk. They were in a wide part of the cave. This is one of God’s miracles. Whoever Allah guides, he is the one who finds the right way. If he surprises anybody, you will no longer find a friend to guide him.
18. Though they are asleep, you think they are awake. We were turning them left and right. Their dogs were also lying at the entrance of the cave with two arms outstretched (lying). If you had seen them, you would surely turn away from them and they would be filled with fear for what you saw.
19. So We awakened them to ask each other. One of them: “How long did you stay?” said. (Some of them) They said, “A day, or less than a day.” (The others) said: “Your Lord knows better how long you stayed. Now send one of you to the city with this silver coin to see; Whichever (of the townspeople) eats is cleaner and tastier, let him bring you a provision. Also, be very gentle (or noticeable) and make sure nobody perceives you. “
20. “Because if they capture you, they will either kill you by stoning or they will convert them to their religion. Then you will never be able to get salvation again. “
21. So We informed (people) of their condition so that they know that Allah’s promise is true and that there is no doubt in the fulfillment of Doomsday. They (they left the miraculous side of the event and the real wisdom) were discussing their situation among themselves. (Some) said, “Build a building above them, and their Lord knows better about them.” Those who dominated the situation said, “We will definitely build a mosque on them”.
22. (O Muhammad!) Some will say, bumping about what they do not know, “They are three people, the fourth is their dog.” Again, they will say, “They are five people, the sixth are their dogs.” They will also say: “They are seven, their eighth are their dogs.” Say: “My Lord knows their number better. Few people know of them anyway. So do not argue about them other than the explicit discussion (in the Quran) and do not ask any of them about them.
23. Do not say about anything, “I’ll do this tomorrow”!
24. But say, “If God wills, I will do it.” When you forget, remember your Lord and say, “I hope my Lord will guide me to what is more true than this.”
25.They remained in their cave for three hundred years. They added nine more to that.
26. Say: “Allah knows better how long they stayed. It belongs to Him to know the unseen of the heavens and the earth. How beautiful he sees, how well he hears! They have no friend other than him. He does not share anybody in his provision. “
27. Read what was revealed to you from the book of your Lord. There is no one who can change his words. You will never find any shelter other than Him.
28.Be with those who pray to their Lord morning and evening, seeking His approval. Do not turn your eyes away from them, desiring the grace of this worldly life. Do not submit to those whose heart we are unaware of in remembrance, who have followed their empty desires and whose work has always been extremist.
29. Say: “Truth is from your Lord. Now those who wish should believe, and whoever wishes may deny. ” We have prepared such a fire for the oppressors that its flaming walls surround them all around them. When they cry (out of thirst) and ask for help, they are helped with a water that scorches faces, like a mineral melt. What a bad drink it is! What a terrible reclining hell.
30. As for those who believe and do good deeds, surely we do not waste the reward of those who do good deeds.
31. For them are the gardens of Adn, through which rivers flow. There they will be set on thrones and adorned with gold bracelets, and they will wear green clothes of thin and thick silk. What a nice response! What a beautiful place to recline in heaven!
Cleopatra Gate

As Evliya Çelebi said, this door is just like a horseshoe. At the time, Klepatra and his lover Roman General Antonius met here. At that time, they called it Cleopatra’s gate, as it met here by passing through the Sea Gate.
There are many places to visit in Tarsus, but most of them are close to each other. In the district center, there is Ulucami, right next to it, the old bathhouse, opposite the old bathhouse, behind the seat of Bilal-i Habeşi, at the end of the street is the sherif mosque, the grave and authority of Danyal, then the museum and the old madrasa.
The Tarsus waterfall, the Shahmaran statue in the bazaar, the grape statue, the St. Paul church and the cleopatra gate are also very close to each other. I categorized it according to the trip so that it would be beneficial for those who want to go.
ULU MOSQUE or Mosque-i Nur

The mosque was full since it was Friday. We waited in the garden until the congregation dispersed. Fortunately, the minaret had its shadow, but we did not feel hot. When we were entering the mosque to visit the mosque after everyone had left, someone came to us and asked us to remember our state. It turns out that he was the old imam of the mosque and the father of the current muezzin.
He explained the architectural features of the mosque one by one. Ulu mosque seems to shout that it is a Seljuk structure in terms of architectural style. It is very similar to the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus with its unique stone structure used in the Syrian region. It is made in a rectangular style and longitudinally so that many people get the reward of praying in the front line. The mosque was under restoration until 17 April. The Museums Directorate has renovated everything of this rare work. Many parts of this 900-year-old giant work have been renovated in accordance with the original. Many columns have been replaced and old columns are displayed in the garden.
The marble work on the mihrab is so original that it is not post-pasted. Marble carvings were made with a monolithic mihrab and pulpit. The carved teeth on the mihrab point to the 6 carved motifs in the first row, the 6 conditions of faith, and the next 5 carvings indicate the condition of Islam.
Our ancestors, who gracefully put their signature on every work, established a perfect system even before the Ottoman was established, which emanates courtesy and delicacy from all of them. It has invested in places of worship for every generation, as well as being a grandchild. In this calligraphy at the entrance of the door, verse 74 of the Surah Israel is written. Meal “Every person behaves according to his own style and character.” Our ancestors also did things suitable for their own character, embracing so much after 9 centuries.
Our ancestors gave importance to spiritual guidance and showed his solid character. Considering that period, it is possible to say that the concept of mosque is the biggest socialization area. The person who built the mosque wrote a tiny inscription on the edge of the column. I do not remember the inscription exactly, but he prayed in his own way and asked forgiveness and forgiveness from my Lord by saying that Allah will have mercy on the person who did it. May Allah be pleased with him. How original and functional is this lamp inside. Since the centers of gravity are equal, the more you pull the ball on the lamp, the more it goes down or up. Thus, a nice solution was found for the lighting of the mosque, whether it can be dim or bright.
The tannery on another lamp holds the heat of the lamps burning in the mosque and cleans them.
Uncle Imam then showed us the position of Lokman Hekim’s maqam and his son, His Holiness Sit, inside the mosque. It is in the left section inside the mosque. There is also a sarcophagus (that is, the grave) and here is the tomb of Me`mun, son of Harun Reşit. The tomb of Seyh Muhammed Hasani, one of the Kadiri Sheikhs, is located just outside the mosque.
One of the old charity boxes in the mosque
Behind the mosque is the office of Bilali Habeşi and the mosque. We could not enter because it was not open. On the way to this mosque, we pass through Kırkkaşık bedesten.
Here, there is a restaurant and a shop selling a few handicrafts. I do not know how long ago the name was, here every day 40 people were served soup and spoon. There are also 40 spoon figures outside the bedesten. Some say that the name comes from here. Tarsus is a civilization that is old but never aging. This bedesten was built in 1579 by Ibrahim Bey, son of Piri Pasha from the Ramazanogullari principality. It has a total of 25 rooms and 7 domes.
OFFICE SHERIFF MOSQUE and DANIYAL PEYGAMBER CABRIC

The stone land of Tarsus is a city of culture. You know, if you match the soil a little in Çanakkale, you will definitely get a hive of a war remnant; Under the ground in Tarsus is full of the remnants of a Byzantine empire. We have had a lot left from Byzantium, one of the most magnificent empires in the world. Hazrat Danyal is a great prophet whose name we cannot see in the Qur’an, but whose existence has been passed on to us from various sources.
As I read from Samarkand magazine, he served at the same time as the prophet Irmiya, who was descended from the Prophet Yakub as. A few years ago, Hazrat Danyal’s tomb was found by a strange coincidence. It was understood that the coins found in the excavations belonged to the time of the Prophet Omar. This proves the accuracy of the news that we received that Prophet Umar passed a river over the grave of Daniel, to protect him from the Jews.
The Kubad Pasha madrasah just opposite defies the years.
The Old Bath is right across Ulucamii in the district center.
St Paul’s Church and well
Saint Paul was born to a Jewish family. First, he fought a lot with Christians to prevent the spread of Christianity. When he saw the Prophet Jesus in his dream one night, he also chose the right path.
Then we went towards the Tarsus waterfall, wandering around constantly looking for a waterfall. But later we saw that it did not flow much due to the drought. We bought turnips from the turnips right next to the Cleopatra door at the entrance of the city. Of course I did not drink. The tiny statues and monuments in this city are also very interesting. We saw a white grape statue, Basilisk fountain and many sculptures. I am always ready to travel, but my stomach was ringing as I travel this long. After visiting San Antonyo church, we fed our stomach in Anatolian restaurant while looking for its well. Lahmacun was great. We enjoyed the view in the wind of Antakya ifil.
Apart from this
, Bac Bridge, Martyrs Monument, Silk Road, Nusret Mine Ship, Ancient Roman Road,
Berdan Dam Dam, Mencik Baba Tomb, Donuktaş and Altında Pass are among the places to visit. Tarsus’s white grape and must were also on the tastes list.
