Kalburabasti Traditional Recipe – Aksaray

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 2 cups sunflower oil
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1 pack of vanilla
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • For the sherbet
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 glasses of water
  • Juice of half a lemon

How It Is Made

Put sugar, water and lemon juice in a pot and boil. It is boiled for another 20 minutes on low heat and then left to cool. Put the dough ingredients in a large bowl and knead. Flour is added if necessary. Cut walnut-sized pieces from the dough and shape them into ovals. Press the top part onto the strainer, place it on a lightly oiled tray, and bake it in the oven set at 180 degrees until golden brown. Take it out of the oven and pour the cooled syrup over it.
