Beautiful Places in Marmaris / Turkey

One of the most important tourism centers on the coast of Hisarönü Bay is Orhaniye. The yachts that come to the Hisarönü Gulf definitely spend the night in Orhaniye. In Orhaniye, the sea is always like a sheet. The color of the surrounding pine forest has hit the water, and the sea has a color unique to it. The environment is so calm that when you immerse yourself in the water, you will not hear anything but the sound you make while swimming. By the way, people walking in the middle of the sea will attract your attention. You will be surprised. As a result of the dune movements, a shallow area was formed starting from the land and dividing the bay into two. The approximately 600-meter strip is called Kızkumu. There is also a legend. The girl who wanted to escape from the pirates who were chasing her put sand on her skirt and advanced by filling the sea. But the sand was not enough and the girl was drowned. There is an island in the middle of the bay and the ruins of a castle on the top of the island. The castle is thought to belong to the ancient city of Baybassos established in the region. You can go to the island by keeping a boat and follow the pathway to the castle ruins on the hill. The scenery is great. It will be worth your tiredness. The people of Baybasos brought water to the castle from the waterfall in the village of Turgut through arches and pipes they laid under water. They made use of the combined containers rule. The ruins of Baybassos, a Carian city, are located on one of the peaks of the mountain on which Orhaniye rests. You can drive to the village near Baybassos by car. To find the way, it is necessary to get help from the surrounding villagers. Because there are no direction signs here, as in most ancient cities. The way out is dirt and hilly. The vehicles are left in the village and after 45 minutes of forest climbing, the summit is reached. The view covering a wide area from Selimiye to Hisaronu below is quite impressive. A boat trip is also organized from Orhaniye to Hisarönü Bay. There are breaks in bays such as Selimiye, Hisarönü and İnbükü and Dişlice Island. The tour lasts until the evening. Located on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Hisaronu, the island of Dislice, opposite the Robinson Club Maris hotel, draws attention with its small canyons and rock structure. At the entrance of Orhaniye bay, next to the Bay Marina Hotel in Keçi Bükü where the yachts are accommodated, there are the ruins of the monastery. The mosaics in his garden are worth seeing. The hotel is still under construction, but its restaurant and yacht towing area are active. It is also possible to go from Orhaniye to Hisarönü and to the Marmaris-Datça road. The distance between Orhaniye and Hisarönü is only 3.5 km. The road is wide and asphalt.
