Beautiful Places in Marmaris / Turkey

After passing the village of Turgut, you will see the sign for Waterfall. It is possible to go to the Şelale location, which is 200 meters inland from the road, by a dirt road. The waterfall is not one of those great waterfalls we know. It was formed by the pouring of a stream from a height of 3-4 meters, flowing through a dense vegetation throughout the valley and decreasing its water in summer. The water of the stream is cold. If your bathing suit is with you, you can swim in the pond created by the waterfall and reach a depth of 2-3 meters and get rid of the sweltering heat for a short time. There are arbor restaurants around and next to the waterfall. The pancake and buttermilk that the peasant women cook on the spot will be good after a cold shower. You can also order trout and chicken. If you can spare time, you can walk along the stream and into the valley. But keep in mind that dense vegetation makes walking difficult at times.

Selimiye

From Orhaniye, we follow the asphalt road along the coast and head towards Bozburun. The road is wide and asphalt. We are in Selimiye 10 km after Orhaniye and 7 km after Turgut turn. Selimiye is also one of the frequent destinations for blue cruise boats sailing between Bodrum and Marmaris. The village is green. The sea water is clean and generally still, but it doesn’t have a beach. Small restaurants gathered around the pier generally serve for boats. An endless calm prevails in the environment. Announced to those who want to have a holiday away from the crowd. Historical ruins can also be found around Selimiye. There are three castle ruins around Selimiye, whose ancient name was Hydas. One is on the highest hill of Selimiye, the other is on Sarıkaya hill, and the last is Aşarkale in Kızılköy district. Hellenistic city wall remains on the southeastern hills of the bay are visited. The watchtower, the lighthouse, the monastery and the theater built to guide the boats approaching Selimiye 100 meters off the coast are the other ruins of the city worth seeing. Remains unearthed from wrecks in the region are exhibited in the Bodrum Underwater Museum. If you are looking for a beach in Selimiye Bay, the natural harbor where boats take shelter in stormy weather, you can go to the shallow, sparkling sandy harbor two kilometers away.
