“Aynalı Lake” in Amasya: Borabay
Picnic tables scattered by the water and in the forest … Intermittent resting houses, stoves for fires, a huge restaurant with a garden, a long narrow pedestrian bridge in front of it, a buffet where needs can be met and springs gushing from everywhere … Fountains with pleasant, soft water … oak, acorn, hornbeam and blackwoods whose images are reflected on the surface… I gave a name to Borabay Lake: Aynalı Lake.

Inside the lake there are mirror carp and catfish. You are also allowed to fish for free for fun. There are 8-10 kinds of trees around Borabay, the “Mirrored Lake” with a size of 900 × 300 meters, and reflections on its surface. Oak, acorn, pine, hornbeam, elm and scallops are the first to catch your eye. It is supposedly forbidden, but the lake is also entered for swimming. The deepest part of the crater lake, which is fed by spring waters from below, is 30 meters.
First, I enjoyed being 63 km away from Amasya and at an altitude of 2061 meters on Akdağ, 2 km above the village of Borabay, in clear air, in an environment free of visual and auditory pollution, and being so far from city life, accompanied by a choir of birds sending the sun. In a color harmony of shades of green, yellow and blue, I left my dream of parking by the lake and having a picnic or pulling the car next to the rest houses and listening to music, and returning to Amasya.
