AMASRA CASTLE

Amasra Castle was built for the first time in the Roman period, and the walls that stand today were built during the Byzantine period. M.S. In the 14th and 15th centuries, front walls and doors were built by the Genoese and were better defended. The walls surround the two island masses consisting of Boztepe and Zindan districts, and these two islands are connected to each other, built in the Roman period called Kemer. The walls were built with large blocks of stones and fortified with towers in the form of a castle. Amasra castle is one of the important ruins that reflect the medieval atmosphere to the present day.
