Antalya’s old city center; Kaleiçi, where the beauty of old and new meet, is surrounded by walls inside and outside. These walls, some of which have survived to this day, were built by various civilizations that lived here for more than two thousand years. Inside the walls, there are traditional houses lined up around the narrow streets leading to the harbour. Two or three-storey houses, with one side facing the street and the other facing the garden, perfectly reflect the atmosphere of old Antalya.
The ancient harbor in Kaleiçi is now used as a modern marina. Together, the marina and the ancient city created a magnificent view that inspired many painters, writers and poets. You can sip your drink while admiring the sea view at the restaurants and cafes around the marina, or go on a pleasant journey along the cliffs with daily excursion boats.
Historical buildings converted into food, beverage, accommodation and entertainment facilities such as hotels, hostels, restaurants and bars; streets decorated with bougainvilleas, every corner full of beauties waiting to be discovered; Kaleiçi is the heart of Antalya and a tourist attraction center with its colorful shops selling local products and souvenirs.
Yivli Minaret and Complex, Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev Madrasa, Karatay Madrasa, Hıdırlık Tower, Hadrian’s Gate, Clock Tower, Şehzade Korkut Mosque, İskele Mosque and Tekeli Mahmut Pasha Mosque are some of the important historical buildings in Kaleiçi.
