The district between Çal, Buldan, Sarıgöl, Eşme and Denizli 76 km north of Denizli was formed in the fourth geological period; It was founded on important alluvial deposits and mountainous rugged terrain.

After crossing the Işıklı dam lake near Çivril, which originates from the Dinar mountains, the Büyük Menderes River, which crosses the borders of Çal district and joins the Banaz and Hamam streams near the Güney’s Adıgüzeller village, but cannot be used for irrigation purposes enough, flows here in deep valleys.

South waterfall Menderes Valley is considered a special bird paradise. In addition to birds singing day and night, wild ducks, kestrel, even eagles, hawks and hawks can be seen in Kartalkaya. Mediterranean vegetation is dominant in the region. Evergreen coniferous trees, bushes, junipers, olives and alder trees are found in the region.

The water of the waterfall, which pours gracefully at a height of 20 meters above the Büyük Menderes River, is calcareous. As a result, calcareous steps and strange formations form in the waterfall bed.

The source of the water is 200 meters behind, in the form of a bridal veil, tulle curtains and even a fan. It is like an emerald green velvet and contains lime in its body, as well as drops of water filtering through the moss that you want to touch with your hand and caress like a cat.

South waterfall: In addition to giving life to plants with exquisite water, it formed Damlataş Cave with stalactites and stalagmites that emerged with its flow for years. In this cave, which is formed in the flow set of the waterfall, there is also a man-sized deep and swimming lake inside the cave. The door and window of the cave are covered by the waterfall water flowing like a curtain.

When it comes to Şelale locality, you park your car along the road and either set up on the tables of the countryside restaurant overlooking the valley, or sit down on the stove-edge wooden tables in the parks and have a picnic.

You can climb to the upper part of the waterfall, wander around it, climb under the water that has the effect of a shower with suitable clothes and feel the waterfall water to your heart’s content.
