The most enjoyable side of Marmaris-Datça road, which is a narrow and twisty road and rises quite a bit for a while, is that it has a view of Hisarönü on one side and the Gulf of Gökova on the other.
You will soon go down and find the opportunity to enter beautiful bays.
When you take the Bozburun road from the 22nd km of the Datça road to the left, you will come to Hisarönü village after one kilometer. Hisaronu is at the edge of the bay that is named after him. The village is a little inside from the main road. Hisarönü, whose sea is shallow and its sand is the color of tile, is one of the options for those who want to spend a quiet holiday away from the crowd of Marmaris.
Hisarönü is known to be good for those with asthma and heart ailments with its always breezy, dry air and clean water.
Between the village and the bay on the plain called Pazarlık (or Gavur Pazarı) on Eren Mountain, the remains of a temple town called Kastabos stand out. The ruins belong to the Hemithea temple. The ancient historian Diodoros of Sicily tells that the woman named Molpadia (singer), who was brought to this region, was worshiped under the name of Hemithea (semi-goddess) and a temple was built for her, and the temple’s reputation continued for a long time.
Kastabos town was connected to the ancient city of Baybassos. The city of Baybassos can be observed 1-2 km north of the temple, on the hill and slopes between the Marmaris-Bozburun road and the sea. The medieval castle on the hill is in good condition.
Boat tours are organized from Hisaronu to the surrounding area. Boats stop at İnbükü (Emel Sayın) Bay, Kartal Bay, Rabbit Island and Bencik Harbor.
