In addition to its natural beauties, and perhaps more importantly, Altınoluk has “Historical Accumulations”. The old village settlement is located on the hill in the north of the city. The first data on the village, which was known as “Papazlık” until 1927, dates back to the 16th century. It dates back to the censuses carried out in the early years of the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent (1520-1566). Based on this, we can say that the establishment of the Priesthood dates back more than 450 years.

The first inhabitants of the village were Söğütlü nomads, whom the Ottoman Empire granted tax exemption, recorded as Derbentçi and placed them in the Priesthood.

Greek settlement; It was formed when the Greeks who were brought from the Greek island of Lesbos to work in the 1820s increased and settled here over time. Greeks also built a church for their worship. It is known that the Turkish settlement at that time consisted of families called Hıdırlar, Kadirs and Sakars.

Examples of Greek and Turkish civil architecture, which bear traces of this life in Altınoluk from the past to the present day, are the most important witnesses of our cultural heritage. 36 buildings have been registered in Altınoluk village, which was declared an Urban Site by the Bursa Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board in 1991. The conservation development plan, covering a significant part of the village, has been in effect since 1994.

Although some important mansions (Abdullah Efendi Mansion, etc.) have been restored, generally registered buildings are awaiting urgent restoration. Besides this; In accordance with the conservation plan, new constructions are formed in accordance with SIT conditions. Altınoluk Antandros Amphitheater, located just on the southern outskirts of the village and included in the protected area, is a very important cultural and artistic venue, the construction of which started in 1994 and was completed in 1997.

And it seems like it has become a complement to the urban protected area.
