Beijing

Beijing was the last stop of my China trip. In fact, I can say that it is the only place I have had the opportunity to visit. When the last business meeting was canceled, I started wandering around Beijing with your hand. Do not think that I see every inch of it when I say traveling, the city I can visit most comfortably. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I left my luggage and threw myself into Wangfujing street where the hotel is located. There is something that I observed in Eastern countries, chirping day and night. Wherever you go, there is a life phrase, far from the empty and cold streets of the west. I remember, even in the middle of New York, which is considered the center of the world, life was ending after 8 pm. Flowing just two hours ago, the city would suddenly become empty and desolate. I wandered the street and did some shopping 🙂 Who said China is very cheap, even in the neighborhood market established in our neighborhood, the things that I can buy for much cheaper are sold here exactly 3-4 times. But it is necessary not to forget the bargain share!

Since Beijing is a very ancient civilization, there are places of worship of a wide variety of religions. There is a large church on Wangfujing Street. My images were not clear since it was night, so I cannot post them here. The next day, we turned to the Great Wall, which is 50km away from our hotel. I realized what our ancestors had when I saw that magnificent work. This huge wall is like a border that divides a huge country in two.

I preferred to take the cable car instead of climbing the stairs to the Great Wall.
China from a bird’s eye view!

NIUJIE MOSQUE 牛街 清真寺

Then we went to Niujie Mosque, which is among the cultural heritage of the city and celebrated its 1000th anniversary in recent years. The mosque was built in 996, during the Liao dynasty. An old Turkish-speaking uncle salutes at the mosque. We meet with Uncle Hacı Yusuf. He wants us to put the suffix “pilgrim” at the beginning of his name and thus implies that he went on pilgrimage. The area where the mosque is located is the Muslim Quarter, and Beijing has a population of 10,000 Muslims. There are many Muslim restaurants nearby. But when you get in, you realize that it is far from its name. They have a different understanding of the restaurant than ours. They especially hung the sign of the Muslim Restaurant, but there is a drink service inside. We visited a few restaurants in order not to starve. As it turns out, restaurants serve lunch between 12-3 and dinner between 7-11. Unfortunately there was 3 more hours for dinner and we had to go to a market. Since the only labels we could read were yoghurt and bread, we took them and froze to the hotel. The sale of products with “HALAL” labels is widespread in many provinces in China.

FORBIDDEN CITY

Our summer days in other cities came to an end as we moved up the map. The icy weather was cutting our faces as we walked down the street. Regardless, we bought the maps as we wanted to see the Forbidden City and we dropped the roads. A cloud of fog covered the entire city due to the sudden change in air temperatures. For this reason, we could not visit the Forbidden City, we only watched the city from the hill opposite. If one of our feet is there anyway, I hope my next trip.

We had to go up the hill to see the Forbidden City, because it was blind. There are many options for those who want to take pictures with city views on the hill. We had just reached the top when a princess from the ancient Chinese dynasty was waiting for us :)) The clogs are also original, the bath clogs.
