Kefken Island is the only inhabited island in the Black Sea. The island, which is a first degree protected area, preserves its historical features. There are architectural ruins from the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods on the island, where there are city walls and ancient water wells. Only the maritime control center of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Ship Rescue Operations is located on the 52-acre island belonging to the Ministry of Finance.
There is a large fishing shelter in the west of Kefken Island. You can go from Cebeci to Kefken Island by boat in 8-10 minutes. The island is one of the places frequented by amateur underwater hunters. Sea bass and mullet can be caught with a harpoon on the island.
