Marmaris – Selimiye Village / Turkey

From Orhaniye, we follow the asphalt road along the coast and head towards Bozburun. The road is wide and asphalt. We are at Selimiye, 10 km after Orhaniye and 7 km after Turgut turn. It is a frequent destination for blue cruise boats sailing between Bodrum and Marmaris in Selimiye. The village is green. The sea water is clean and generally still, but it does not have a big palsy in Selimiye. Small restaurants gathered around the pier usually serve for boats. An endless calm prevails in the environment. It is announced to those who want to have a holiday away from the crowd. There are three castle ruins around Selimiye. One is on the highest hill of Selimiye, the other is on Sarıkaya hill, and the last is Aşarkale in Kızılköy district. Hellenistic city wall remains on the southeastern hills of the bay are visited. The watchtower, the lighthouse, the monastery and the theater, built to guide the boats approaching Selimiye 100 meters off the coast, are other ruins of the city worth seeing. If you are looking for a beach in Selimiye Bay, the natural harbor where boats take shelter in stormy weather, you can go to the shallow harbor with sparkling sand, which is two kilometers away.
