Alacati Architecture
The first striking architectural texture in Alaçatı. Houses made of pumice-like cut stones called “Alaçatı stone” have the feature of keeping warm in winter and cool in summer. Although considered a rotten stone, when combined with the carbon dioxide of the air, it forms limestone and acts as a filter. The ground of the town is also covered with these stones. Restoring the old Alaçatı houses, some of which are from the Greeks, and settling down has become fashionable these days. Garden villas lined with new streets lined with black pepper trees are enviable. Gum trees grove produced by dipping method, Windmills, narrow streets, unique, calm and quiet. For those who walk these streets, it is a pleasant haven of peace.
