Antalya Koprucay

Born from the Taurus Mountains and passing through natural wonder canyons, Köprüçay pours into the Mediterranean from the south of Serik. Both sides steep, leading up to the Köprüçay fed by underground springs in the canyon that is almost impossible, constitutes one of Turkey’s most beautiful natural recreation areas. In addition, many archaeological sources such as the historical city of Selge (Zerk) located in the mountainous terrain to the west of the river, riverside castles, aqueducts, bridges from the Roman era and historical roads increase the importance of Köprülü canyon.

In order to reach Köprüçay, it is reached from Antalya to Serik and then to Taşağıl and Beşkonak. From Manavgat direction, Beşkonak is reached via Taşağıl. The road up to Beşkonak village is asphalt and from time to time follows Köprüçay.

Köprülü Canyon National Park has an area of ​​36 thousand hectares and includes a part of Köprüçay and the historical city of Selge. In addition to being the largest Mediterranean service forest in our country, the national park is also rich in wildlife with its red glass, larch, cedar, fir, oak varieties and wild olive groves. Fallow deer, wild goat, wild boar, bear, wolf, fox, rabbit and various bird species are available. Red spotted trout lives in the upper parts of Köprüçay and mullet in the other parts.

Track

The Oluk Bridge is approximately 100 m. Starting from the area at the bottom where the water is still and the river pockets, the Oluk Bridge is reached by traveling against the current, especially for the amateurs to adapt to the rowing technique. Amateurs can usually enter the canyon from the Oluk Bridge, and the professionals, if they wish, from the waterfall near the starting point or from the Oluk Bridge and turn further and start the course. The course that continues after the waterfall, which is just below the starting point, is 2-3 difficulty. The waterfalls that are frequently encountered along the track add excitement to the course, apart from the beautiful pesage.

Approximately 10 km. After the journey that lasts, you reach the concrete bridge beyond Beşkonak. For amateur athletes, it is recommended to conclude the course just before the concrete bridge. However, professional athletes can enter the first canyon after the concrete bridge. The second canyon should not be entered. From this canyon, the stream disappears in some parts under the rocks and emerges again a little further. Approximately 3 km. At the end of the first canyon, you can reach the asphalt road by walking from the left.
