Dalyan delta, one of the world’s most important ecosystems, was formed as a result of tectonic movements that have been going on for millions of years. Dalyan delta, bordered by mountains covered with forests to the east and west, has taken on the appearance of an incredibly beautiful labyrinth as a result of the life chain formed by fresh, salty and thermal waters. Dalyan canal, which connects Köyceğiz lake to the Mediterranean, also connects Sülüngür, Ala and Sülüklü lakes.

Since the surroundings of the canals are covered with reeds reaching several meters in height in places, it is inevitable that people who do not know the canal well will get lost if they enter the canal by boat. You can experience this great excitement by joining boat tours to visit the canals. In order not to disrupt the ecosystem, speedboats and large boats are prohibited from entering the canal.

The most important feature of Dalyan is that Caretta caretta turtles, which have been living for millions of years, lay their eggs on Iztuzu beach to reproduce. Iztuzu beach, located where the Dalyan channel reaches the sea, is in the form of a natural peninsula approximately 5 km long. Caretta carettas come here in April and May and lay their eggs.

After a two-month incubation period, the eggs hatch and the hatchlings, finding their way by moonlight at night, reach the sea.

The ancient city of Kaunos, which has been excavated since 1966, is another beauty of Dalyan. Founded around 3000 BC, Kaunos is one of the Greek colonies in the Caria region. Kaunos, famous for its king tombs carved into the rocks, is one kilometer away from Dalyan. You can go to Kaunos by road or by boat.

Of course, you cannot come to Dalyan and leave without taking a mud bath. The warm water from the hot springs located between the southern shore of Köyceğiz Lake and the upper parts of the Dalyan canal smoothes wrinkles on the human skin with the sulfur it contains. You can reach the hot springs by boat for a mud bath, which is almost an elixir of youth.

In addition to all these beauties, Dalyan is also very rich in terms of sports opportunities. If you want, you can tour the canals by canoe, 50 km. You can go rafting in Dalaman Stream, paragliding in Fethiye Ölüdeniz, and take part in bird watching trips. You also have the opportunity to dive to experience the deep beauties of the Mediterranean. Apart from this, Tracking are just a few of the activities that Jeep Safari Dalyan offers you.
