
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 250 gr. margarine
- 1 tea glass of oil
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 tea glass of walnuts
- For the syrup:
- 4 cups of sugar
- 4 glasses of water
- juice of half a lemon
How It Is Made
Heat the oil in the pan and remove it from the heat. When it cools down a little, margarine, baking powder, milk and flour are added and mixed until it becomes a dough. Walnut-sized pieces are cut from the dough obtained as a result of this process, walnuts are placed inside them, the edges are closed and placed on a tray. Bake in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for half an hour until it turns pink. Meanwhile, boil water and sugar and prepare sherbet by adding two-three drops of lemon juice. Warm sherbet is poured over the warm date baklava. Service is provided after waiting for 1 hour. Note: It is called “Fırma Baklava” in the local language. It is called “Firma Baklava” because it spreads in the mouth like a date when eating it. Firm; It comes from the word date.
