It is built on a peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides in Kıyıkışlacık Village, 28 km from Milas. Iasos, located on the opposite coast of Güllük in the Mandalya bay, is a small residential area established around the peninsula where the village of Kıyıkışlacık (Asınkurin) is located. According to legend, Iasos, which was founded by communities from Argos during the Milen period, was previously a candidate.

It has been determined that the oldest settlement in the city, which became a peninsula with the filling of alluviums over time, dates back to the end of the 3rd millennium BC. Important structures of the ancient city are located on this peninsula. The large fortification, aqueducts, tombs and the structure called the fish market are located outside the fortification.

The Iasos people, who engaged in fishing and trade years ago because of the scarcity of agricultural land, continue their old traditions today. However, now tourism and real estate farm fishing have been added to fishing and trade.

Iassos, where transportation is easier with the completion of Güllük airport, looks like an open-air museum with its historical features and a fish paradise with its fish farms. The most important feature of Iasos, which also has wetlands fed by the Menderes river branch, is that it hosts a “Bird Paradise” protected within its borders.

Visitors of the Güllük reeds and bird paradise in Iasos, consisting of clumsy, angıt, wild duck, pelican and heron birds, allow hundreds of local and foreign tourists to flock to the region. In addition to a calm and peaceful holiday, Kıyıkışlacık beach offers its enthusiasts the opportunity to fish with harpoons.

Iasos, which is also one of the most important yacht stops in the Aegean, is considered to be the biggest competitor of Bodrum and Güllük regions as it is a holiday destination that can be reached by both land and sea. Both Iassos and Olive Oil are being built rapidly. 2000 houses have been completed in the sites that start and develop rapidly in the charming and historical residential area that collects all these beauties. Some of them are still under construction.

Some buildings, on the other hand, exhibit abandoned appearances. 40% of the finished buildings were filled by summer cottages. Housing prices vary between 80-150 billion as of July 2007.
