YOROS CASTLE

If you climb to Yoros Castle, which is located on a hill dominating the environment from the coast, you can watch the ships entering Istanbul from the Black Sea and the magnificent view of the Bosphorus. Yoros Castle, located at the tip of the hill, draws attention with its architecture and coat of arms on the walls. Anadolu Kavağı, which was attacked by the Bithynians, Goths and Russians, was also captured by the Genoese for a while. Yoros Castle, built by the Genoese, dates back to 1190. It is also mentioned that there is a Turkish quarter of 25 houses in Yoros Castle, which was conquered by the Byzantines and the Ottomans in the 14th century. Evliya Çelebi, on the other hand, mentions that the black castle in the town of poplar was conquered by Yıldırım Han, was repaired by Mehmed the Conqueror and put soldiers in it, and that the surrounding area was 200 steps and covered with chestnut forest on all four sides.
