The young girl, who stands to drink water in the green area where Gazlıgöl is now located within the provincial borders of Afyonkarahisar, ran to the swamp under the influence of the heat of the summer months. She drank the water and dropped herself into the muddy water. Her aches were relieved and she fell asleep on the spot with the exhaustion of days. When she awoke, she realized that her pain and aches had disappeared. She stayed by the water for a week and she recovered and returned to the palace. King Midas, who was curious about his daughter and mourned day and night, was very happy when he saw his healed daughter again and said that he would make him the head of the physician. When the young girl said that it was hot water, not the doctor, who healed her, King Midas ordered a bathhouse to be built where hot water was available. It is stated that this spa has been used since the time of the Phrygians.
