FOUNTAINS: In addition to the many buildings of Çeşme with typical Aegean architectural features, the Ottoman period fountains, from which they are named, add a special value to this architectural richness. Anonymous Çeşme was built in 1792 and District Governor Çeşme was built in 1829, among these fountains, whose locations were determined in the district center plan.
TOMBS: It is a hexagonal planned mausoleum belonging to the 18th century. It reflects the basic characteristics of Ottoman mausoleum architecture. Its location has been determined in the district center plan.
MOSQUES: All of the mosques belong to the 19th century. Hacı Memiş Mosque, one of these mosques in use today, was built in 1832 and Hacı Mehmet Mosque was built in 1842.
ÇEŞMEKÖY: The place, also known as the “Old Mosque”, is 2 km. to the south. During the Byzantine rule, I. Kılıç Arslan’s father-in-law Emir Çaka came to Çeşme in 1081 when he conquered the peninsula and settled the Turks from the Oghuz Tribes in this center. It is still an interesting example of 11th century Turkish settlements with a mosque ruin and a large cemetery. Erythrai is 27 km from Çeşme center. ILICA: It is the biggest and most popular tourism center of Çeşme with its wide and white sandy beaches close to 2 km long, qualified accommodation facilities and thermal facilities. The hot thermal waters boiling from the sea turn the Ilica beach and other beaches in the region into large thermal pools. Large and small accommodation facilities in Ilıca are able to meet the needs of an intense tourist capacity. The most important issue that increases the importance of Ilıca is its thermal facilities. Many small hotels and hostels even have hot spring water. One of the most important features of Çeşme beaches and especially Ilıca beach is that a strip of approximately 100 meters from the coast towards the sea is at a depth not exceeding human height. Scientific findings have proven that ultraviolet rays are much more beneficial for human health in shallow waters, especially in waters fed by thermal springs. In addition to these, the opportunities for children to benefit from these beaches are convenient in terms of health and life safety. The largest accommodation facility of Ilıca is located on the edge of this beach. It is also a facility certified by the Ministry of Tourism.
