We are going to the Anatolian Lighthouse, which is located at the entrance of the Black Sea on the Anatolian side of the Bosphorus, but first we will stop at Poyraz village.

Returning from Beykoz, passing Yuşa Hill, you go to Anadolu Kavagi. Besides, it is possible to reach Poyraz and Anatolian Lighthouse by continuing the road, passing by Yoros Castle. From Beykoz, which is another alternative, you can go directly to the Anatolian Lighthouse via Akbaba Village. These two windpipes, which can be accessed by both roads, are located on high hills with a view overlooking the Bosphorus. Poyraz is located in a sheltered bay where boats and yachts take shelter during the summer. When the beach is a sandy beach, the ones coming from the land are added to the popularity it sees from the sea. Fish restaurants, shoulder to shoulder on the coastal line, all with sea views, increase the attractiveness of the village with their open and closed sections. Poyraz, which can be reached to the beach by car and can be wandered around the breakwater, has a cruising and picnic area on a high hill that can be climbed by vehicle or stairs. Sipping tea under the shade of a tree against the view with different viewpoints in both directions, surrendering to the oxy-rich, sea-scented breeze, helps you to experience coolness and get rid of all mental fatigue in a short time. There is a vehicle parking facility almost everywhere in Poyraz. Connected to the village by a bridge and next to the Poyraz mosque, you can see the Anatolian Lighthouse from the tip, stay as long as you can and have a picnic without paying anyone a penny. However, another more attractive place is located at the base of the tower where the Poyraz Watchtower and Castle are located. We’re going there now.
Poyraz Castle When you pass the bridge behind the mosque and turn left the fountain in the corner, the castle appears before you. You can move forward in the greenery and enter the castle.
The castle, in the northeast of the village of Poyraz, overlooking the entrance of the Bosphorus, has a watchtower that has survived partially today, and has a circular plan. The western entrance part of the castle is flat and 20 meters in diameter. The wall thickness of the castle is 160 cm and there are 12 narrow and 12 wide loopholes on it. On the right and left of the castle entrance, you can see the cellar entrances for the personnel. Although the exact date of foundation of the castle is not known, it is believed that it was built by the French architect Baron de Tott by the Captain Algerian Hasan Pasha after the 1778 war. It is known that it belongs to the same period as the Garipçe Castle on the opposite side and was built and used for the same purpose. The surroundings of the castle make colorful flowers in harmony in spring.
