NASA Shares First Audio Recordings of Laser Pulses From Mars

The Perseverance spacecraft of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the agency responsible for the space program studies of the United States, recorded the first audio recordings of laser pulses over Mars. The sound recorded by the vehicle was shared for the first time. It was stated that the sound recording included 30 beats, some of which were slightly louder than others. Rhythmic beat sounds were recorded after being heard by the microphone in the vehicle’s SuperCam device. It was stated that the sounds are of different intensity and can help the team in understanding the structure of the rocks around the vehicle.

In the post on the social media account of the NASA Perseverance spacecraft, “You are listening to the first sound recordings of laser pulses on Mars. “These rhythmic beat sounds heard by the microphone on my SuperCam have different intensities that can help my team understand the structure of the rocks around me.”
