Akcakoca – Duzce / Turkey

Karaburun Village

The first striking feature is the wide, untouched beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, camping areas behind them, affordable rural restaurants, shady picnic areas. Once one of the most popular holiday destinations for caravan and tent tourism, especially German tourists, Karaburun nowadays mostly serves local tourists. When you come to the village square, you get used to the environment very quickly, you can see everywhere at once. While taking a rest break in the tiny park under tall trees, the beach stretching on both sides welcomes those who enter the sea. Dolphins who are friendly to human beings are the center of attention while playing various games by showing their dorsal fins and they give a message that the beaches are safe. The sea, which is shallow for 100 meters from the shore, does not adversely affect swimmers even if there is a wave. Campgrounds, discotheques, bars, tea gardens, two drinks and one non-alcoholic restaurant, and developed hostels are enough to meet the needs. The season that starts in May gives a holiday leave until November. At the end of the road we continue parallel to the sea on the shore of Karaburun, we encounter Melenağzı Village. In this region where B.Melen Stream meets the sea, fishing boats with their vivid colors add color to the earth-colored tea and decorate it. While the bridge at Melenağzı, which is the end point of the rafting participants starting from Dokuz Değirmen village, allows for viewing on both sides of the stream and the environment, the areas suitable for picnics, pensions and gardens are eye-catching. The local people are engaged in hazelnut farming, and those who make a living with fishing fill the nets they leave in suitable places with a little bit of mullet fish.
