Akcakoca – Duzce / Turkey

Central Anatolia’s closest door to the sea …
The seaside of Düzce, the first holiday discovery place of Ankara residents years ago, the charming district of the Black Sea with its natural structure
Akçakoca, which leaves a trace in the memories with its sea, sand, sunset, civil architecture examples, mountain strawberries, hazelnuts, is admired with its kilometers-long beaches, lush vegetation, historical castle, caves, waterfalls, plateaus, friendly people and local flavors.

You enter the district, which started to be a holiday center in 1950-55, with a nice road.
In the district center, you will be greeted by a modern mosque with a unique architecture. While the magnificent building environment is the focal point of the district as a shopping center, the landscaping, green field and park areas attract attention. The clock tower built in recent years and the car-wheeled aesthetic benches that offer the opportunity to sit in the same square and relax. You can walk along the beach from the square, sit on the oxcart cart and watch the fishermen’s shelter, sometimes you can walk on the breakwater, go on walks and watch Akçakoca with the silhouette of the Central Mosque from the sea. Another remarkable feature along the beach is that various examples of wooden huts built to store and store corn cobs in the villages are used as cafes. Those who enjoy watching the coastal part of the Black Sea under the colorful harmonious blinds opening around them and sip their refreshments or tea feel that they are in a different region.

The shady street, lined with centuries-old plane trees and stretching along the coast of Akçakoca, offering quality service restaurants and stopovers, is closed to vehicle traffic in the summer due to the increase in tourist density and is used as a walking and walking area. Apart from the statues of Osmangazi, Konuralp Bey, Akçakoca Bey, various symbolic monuments, flower pools and urban furniture can be seen in the district. A complex made of jugs, various animal figures such as lions and rabbits among the flowers, hazelnut sculptures, various agricultural vehicles used in villages and rural areas, cars, balcony railings, ornate cuffs attract attention.

The fisherman’s shelter, which was once a beach and set aside with the arrangement made, and a pier built, colors the interior of the harbor as if reflecting the fondness of the Black Sea fishermen for vivid colors. Boats entering and exiting the shelter all day long, fishermen who repair their nets, encourage Akçakoca to take photographs and paint. When you sit in one of the coastal banks and watch the harbor in Akçakoca, which starts the day early in the morning, you see that the fishermen, boat chiefs and even the employees in the harbor are helpful in great solidarity. If a boat is going to land on the sea that day, or if he is going to land, he always leaves his job and rushes to help.
