Girls Rock Juice
The steep rock, which looks like a rising wall, is surrounded by moss. The mosses seem to be waiting for hands that will fondly caress them in grass-green hues, creating the impression of crying with the drops falling through the different plant tissue. The reason why it is known as Kız Kayası Water is that it is believed to be the place where the girls living in the region and of the age of marriage wish to find a good husband, drink from its water and visit. Cingirt District, further along the road, looks cute with its three-storey natural houses with village ovens.
While passing the poetic highland villages one after another, we encounter a wooden mosque hidden in the valley in Hemşin Village on our way. The Merkez Eski Mosque is not made of a commonly seen material, it was built with interlocking technique without using any nails, and chestnut wood was used throughout. The minaret, sermon and walls of the mosque, which has a history of more than 130 years, are wooden everywhere. The ceilings are handcrafted like embroidery. The floor is made of stone, even the altar is carved into stone. Restoration works are walking slowly due to the lack of funds, the minaret, steps and roof, which have been decayed for now, have been repaired.
