Between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan lives an Arabic-speaking people whose bond to their land reaches back through the deep layers of history. The Palestinians are the modern heirs of the many peoples who have inhabited Palestine, a land holy to three faiths and fought over for millennia.
Theirs is a heritage of olive groves and embroidered dresses, of the dabke danced at weddings and the call to prayer over ancient stone cities, and also a modern story marked by displacement, exile, and an unbroken longing for home.
